The game of political defections ahead of the assembly elections is going on in Uttarakhand. On Monday the BJP poached senior Congress leader and head of Female wing of Uttarakhand Congress Sarita Arya. She joined BJP in presence of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and president of state unit of BJP Madan Kaushik at BJP office.
Sarita Arya was upset ever since the father son duo of Yashpal Arya and Sanjeev Arya joined Congress. In the last assembly elections she lost to Sanjeev from Nainital assembly constituency. After return of Yashpal Arya and Sanjeev to Congress party’s fold, Sarita was adamant that she would contest from Nainital, the constituency she has nurtured for years. Meanwhile the Uttarakhand Congress has removed Sarita from the party.
