Several routes to remain diverted on Republic Day

Many routes will remain diverted in Dehradun on the occasion of Republic Day on Wednesday. The police informed that there will be a zero zone around the Parade Ground during the Republic Day parade. Entry of all vehicles, carts and hawkers will be banned in the area surrounding the Parade Ground.

The VIPs and the officials concerned will enter the parade ground from gate number one opposite the Employment Office junction. Four wheeler vehicles of all those participating in the event like individuals from the army, paramilitary force, police and mediapersons among others will be parked in the Pavilion Ground and two-wheelers in the premises of Forest Rangers College. The vehicles of the spectators arriving to watch the event from Survey Chowk and EC Road will be parked at Mangala Devi school, Srinivas Wedding Point and on the premises of IRDTA.

Vehicles arriving from Kanak Chowk and Darshanlal Chowk will be parked at Lord Venkateswara ground and Rangers Ground respectively. According to the police, the routes on outer points- EC Road, Survey Chowk, Buddha Chowk, Darshanlal Chowk, Orient Chowk and Pacific junction will remain barricaded and vehicles of only VIPs and pass holders will be allowed to enter. The inner points- the employment office junction, Kanak Chowk, Doonga House, Lansdowne Chowk and Convent junction will also remain barricaded. The routes of Vikrams that operate on Dharampur, Raipur and ISBT routes will remain diverted too. The routes of the city buses will also remain diverted on Republic Day. The police have appealed to the locals to use the alternate routes and ride two-wheelers to avoid any inconvenience on the said routes. They have also appealed to the people arriving to watch the event to park the vehicles at the designated places.
