Former CM questions government on bureaucracy

Sunday, 10 April | PNS | Dehradun

Former chief minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat has once again taken a jibe at the State government, this time on the subject of bureaucracy. He has asked whether it is only now after the Bharatiya Janata Party was elected with two-third majority that problems in the bureaucracy are coming to the fore. Among the politicians most active on the social media, Rawat said that he will tweet in the coming days in an attempt to show where the problem lies.

Taking to Facebook on Saturday, the veteran Congress leader said, “Reading the prominent newspapers of the state these days one finds two to three reports in each newspaper about the uncontrolled functioning of the bureaucracy, the warnings of the ministers regarding this or the steps being taken by them including those related to getting the right once again to write the CR of secretaries. The chief minister and ministers appear to be warning the bureaucracy in such a way that makes it seems that now everything will be well- which is good. However, I am unable to understand one thing as to why all the flaws with the bureaucracy are being brought to the fore now after the elections. Was there another party in office earlier? Where the three chief ministers and cabinet ministers in the previous state government brought from somewhere else? The mannerism of the ministers and language of the news makes it seem as if all was unwell in the past and is being corrected now. We are also waiting for the steps being taken for improvement,” he said.
