Covid- Active cases, positivity rate increasing in U’khand

The number of active cases of Covid-19 and sample positivity rate in Uttarakhand is continuing to cause concern. The active case count in the state climbed to 114 on Tuesday while the sample positivity rate was 1.29 per cent on the day.
The state health department reported 18 new patients of the Covid-19 in the state on Tuesday. Death of no patient was reported from in the state on the day. The authorities also declared six patients cured from the disease on the day. The department has so far detected 92,439 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 88,885 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 275 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 96.09 per cent on Tuesday. The health department reported 16 new patients from Dehradun and two from Haridwar on Tuesday. No new case was reported from 11 districts of the state on Tuesday.
Dehradun with 80 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Nainital has 12 active cases of the disease r. Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag and Tehri districts have no active cases of the disease. In the ongoing vaccination drive 9,408 people were vaccinated in 645 sessions in the state held on Tuesday.
