106 roads blocked in various parts of State

A total of 106 roads were reported to be blocked in various parts of the State on Wednesday. According to the information provided by the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) on Wednesday evening, in Uttarkashi district the national highways to Gangotri and Yamunotri are open though six rural motor roads are blocked in the district. One State highway and four rural motor roads were reported blocked in the Nainital district while in Almora district three rural motor roads were blocked. Similarly, in the Chamoli district the Rishikesh-Badrinath national highway 58 was open for traffic though 25 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in the district. One State highway and four rural motor roads were reported blocked in Dehradun district while three rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in Champawat district. One State highway, one main district road and three other district roads along with 20 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in the Pauri district. One district road and three rural motor roads were reported blocked in the Bageshwar district. In the Rudraprayag district the Rishikesh-Kedarnath national highway 108 was open for traffic while the construction of a bailey bridge was completed to restore traffic on the Uttarkashi-Tehri-Ghansali-Mayali-Tilwada motor road which was disrupted due to a damaged steel girder bridge. Further, one State highway and seven rural motor roads were blocked in the district. In the Tehri district, the Lambgaon-Motna-Rajakhet-Ghansali state highway 69 was washed out at the two kilometre mark while Narendranagar-Ranipokhri state highway 77 was blocked at kilometre one. Eight rural motor roads were reported blocked in the district.One border road and 10 rural motor roads are blocked in the Pithoragarh district.
