The State government taking yet another step in pursuance of the policy of zero tolerance for corruption on the directions of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Special Task Force (STF) has registered a case after ascertaining irregularities in the forest guard online examination 2021. On the directions of the CM, the State’s director general of police Ashok Kumar had earlier handed over  the investigation of online forest guard recruitment to the STF.

It will be recalled that Dhami has consistently talked about not compromising with the policy of zero tolerance for corruption. “If any irregularities are found in the recruitment process, strict action will be taken against those found guilty of it. Not a single guilty person will be spared. Out government will not allow injustice with the hardworking and honest youth of the State,” said Dhami.

According to the STF, the online examination for recruitment to posts of forest guard was held in 18 shifts from September 16 to 25 in 2021. There were a total of 316 vacancies. Irregularities in the examination and use of unfair means by some of the candidates were ascertained in the investigation by the STF/cyber. After investigation in the matter, a case was registered in the cyber police station on Sunday. The case was registered under IPC sections 420/120 B, 66 Information Technology Act and other relevant sections. In the preliminary phase some of the candidates who appeared in the examination have also been identified while some persons who allegedly assisted in the malpractices have been taken into custody and are being questioned in detail. The officials said that evidence of NSEIT Limited, the agency which conducted the said examination, being involved in the irregularities have also come to light. Some private institutes where the exams were organised have also been identified. The initial investigation has found signs of nexus based in Haridwar rural area, western Uttar Pradesh and Delhi being involved in the matter.
