The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a protest at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Park in Dehradun on Sunday against the summon of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to Delhi chief minister and national convener of the party Arvind Kejriwal for questioning him in the Delhi excise policy case. During the protest, the workers also raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central government.
The party leaders claimed that it is the Central government’s attempt to malign the image of AAP as it does not have the answers to genuine questions and concerns raised by Kejriwal. The State coordinator of AAP, Jot Singh Bisht said that the government does not have answers regarding the increasing unemployment rate among youth, inflation reaching its peak and increasing economic recession so it has stooped to the level of conspiring against Kejriwal to malign the image of AAP to divert the public’s attention from real issues of the country. “One of the main objectives of our demonstration was to raise our voice against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s imperial and dictatorial attitude. Kejriwal was called to CBI headquarters without any reason as per the part of Modi’s conspiracy to malign the image of an honest leader,” alleged Bisht.
He said that the way the Central government is handling issues in the country is making it a danger to democracy. He opined that the situation has become so bad in the country that anybody who even asks questions to BJP leaders or the Central government has to face severe consequences. He said that AAP leaders will not tolerate such a dictatorship in the country and will continue to raise their voices against injustice and corrupt practices.
