The Bharatiya Janata Party has stated that all the summer sessions of the Assembly will be held in the summer capital Gairsain in the future. The policy of the State government is clear regarding this. A strong infrastructural set up is being developed by the State government in Gairsain, said the BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt.
Talking to the media here on Saturday, Bhatt said that on March 4, 2020, the BJP had declared Gairsain the summer capital of Uttarakhand as per its election manifesto. However, the unprecedented situations caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and focus on Char Dham Yatra arrangements hampered holding of the budget session of the Assembly in Gairsain in the past. “The State government under chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is going to put a system in place under which the Assembly session held during the summer every year will be held in Gairsain. A basic infrastructure will be developed in Gairsain which will remain throughout the summer so that the Assembly session and related activities are held without any hindrance,” said Bhatt.
Expressing satisfaction at the start of distribution of compensation to the Joshimath land subsidence affected persons he assured that the remaining people would be rehabilitated on the basis of the increased circle rate. He said that for the first time in the nation, the compensation and rehabilitation process in a disaster situation has been started in such a short time period. Some procedures related to land are in the final stage and their owners too will receive compensation on the basis of the increased circle rates soon, he said. On the question of distribution of positions to party leaders, he said that since the BJP believes in Indian culture and traditions, good news can be expected after Holi. Rejecting the allegations made by opposition leaders, he said that all the ministers in-charge are touring their respective districts. On the demand of the opposition for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into irregularities in the recruitment process, he said that people of the State have welcomed the introduction of the most strict anti-copying law in the nation, adding that it would have been better if the opposition adopted a positive approach. The youth are satisfied with the SIT inquiry to be monitored by a High Court judge, he added.
