Accident occurred at same spot where Rishabh Pant was injured
Four people were seriously injured in a road accident on the stretch of the Delhi-Dehradun national highway at Narsan in Roorkee after a car from Noida carrying four people to Haridwar collided with the divider on Thursday.
The four were admitted to the hospital for treatment. The officials said that this is the same spot where cricketer Rishabh Pant met with an accident in December last year. The officials informed that four people- Sahil, Savan, Prachi and Shruti from Greater Noida were travelling in a car to go to Haridwar when the car reportedly dodged a tractor trolley after which it narrowly escaped colliding with a Haryana Roadways bus while attempting to overtake the vehicle.
Breaking the guardrail of the highway, the car dragged for a long distance and overturned, as per the officials. Police said that some locals who witnessed the accident pulled out the injured from the car and took them to the hospital for treatment. Live footage of the accident was also captured in a nearby CCTV camera which was being circulated on social media platforms since then. The officials said that it appeared that the car was overspeeding but they are yet to ascertain the exact cause of the mishap. Also, the police had to use cranes to remove vehicles from the road as many jammed the highway after the accident.
