The Food and Civil Supplies Minister Rekha Arya on Thursday attended a conference in New Delhi organised by the central government under the chairmanship of the Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Piyush Goyal for ministers concerned of all states and union territories. The officials from the ministry gave presentations in the conference on smart public distribution system and One Nation One Ration Card scheme.
Representatives of several states and territories also gave presentations on the best practices carried out by their respective departments. States like Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh gave presentations on procurement of millets and food grains, Andhra Pradesh gave presentations on Command Control Centre practice on food supplies. Arya also gave information about the schemes run by the department in Uttarakhand. She also informed about how One Nation One Ration Card scheme and Antyodaya scheme that gives free three gas cylinders to Antyodaya families has benefitted hundreds of families in the State. She said that attending such conferences organised by the central government gives insights at the good work done by other states.
