The Badrinath national highway was blocked at two places following heavy rains in Chamoli on Sunday. The highway was blocked at Khachada Nala and Kanchan Ganga. The Khachada Nala in spate prevented vehicular traffic while debris blocked the highway near Kanchan Ganga.
Traffic resumed at Khachada Nala after the weather cleared though it was blocked at Kanchan Ganga for a bit longer. This location too was cleared by the Border Roads Organisation and reopened for traffic. It took about two hours to reopen the stretch of the highway near Kanchan Ganga and four hours to clear the stretch near Khachada Nala.
