An alumnus of Birla Vidya Mandir school in Nainital, Bhagwan Bansal has won three gold medals in the central Asian championship in Kyrgyzstan. He won gold medals in different categories in weight lifting. Congratulating him, school principal Anil Sharma said that Bansal was a student of the 1972 batch. He was an impressive player even during his school days.
Stating that winning three gold medals at an international level competition is a matter of honour, the principal said that Bansal’s feat has also made the school proud. After his return, a function will be held in the school to felicitate him.
Bansal is a resident of Bareilly in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh. He did his schooling upto class XII from the Birla Vidya Mandir here.
