BJP begins 10-day booth committee formation drive

Monday, 11 NOVEMBER 2024 | PNS | DEHRADUN

The Bharatiya Janata Party started a 10-day drive on Sunday to establish booth committees with the aim to solidify its grassroots support across Uttarakhand. The BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that the party’s efforts during the drive will result in 11-member committees at the booth level, with roles designed to include women, youth and representatives from SC/ST communities, ensuring social diversity. He said that the booth committees are the foundation of the BJP’s organisational structure. Chauhan emphasised that the committees play a key role in both party activities and election efforts, acting as the primary link between the party and the public. He informed that each committee will have a designated president, secretary and specific coordinators for BJP initiatives like Mann Ki Baat. Additional roles will cover tasks like WhatsApp communication, beneficiary coordination and representation for OBC, SC/ST, minority and other social categories. Three out of the 11 members must be women, ensuring gender inclusion, he added. He informed that the party has appointed senior workers as Shakti Kendra Sahayaks to guide the formation process, coordinating with local booth leaders. He said that each committee will submit records to district and State leadership after its formation. Beginning November 16, data entry of these committees will be recorded on a central portal. Through this drive, BJP seeks to build a strong grassroots base in time for the upcoming elections, he added.
