Expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for paving the path of the Jamrani Dam project, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the problem of shortage of drinking water in Haldwani and nearby areas will be solved by the project. It is pertinent to mention here that the CM was consistently taking up the issue of Jamrani dam in his past meetings with the PM. The project was envisaged after independence but due to financial constraints the work on it could not commence.
The State cabinet in its meeting of May 18, 2023 had approved the proposal to shift the families affected by the project in the 300.5 acres of land of Parag farm in Udham Singh Nagar district.
