CM launches development schemes worth Rs 347 crore in Uttarkashi

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched 110 development schemes worth Rs 347 crore in Uttarkashi on Saturday.These include 54 schemes worth Rs 136.99 crore which he inaugurated and 56 schemes worth Rs 210.11 crore for which he unveiled the foundation stones. Dhami also presented cheques from the CM discretionary fund to six talented students along with grants and keys to homes to beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana. He also presented cheques to 63 beneficiaries of various departmental schemes, wheelchairs to differently abled persons and disaster relief kits and agriculture- horticulture related equipment to 16 beneficiaries. He also made various announcements for the development of Uttarkashi on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that the launch of 110 development schemes has started a new chapter of development in Uttarkashi. These will enable development in road network, health facilities, residential buildings for block offices and schools, libraries, toilets and laboratories in schools, hostel for sportspersons and parking facilities for locals and tourists. Dhami said that the nine years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in office have been dedicated to service, good governance and welfare of the poor. The citizens are being provided cheap and accessible health services with free treatment also being facilitated under the Ayushman Yojana.The road, rail and air connectivity has expanded swiftly across the nation. Various works are underway in Uttarakhand with Rs 1,300 crore reconstruction works underway in Badrinath and Kedarnath. He further said that more than 21,000 persons have benefitted under the PM Ujjwala Yojana in Uttarkashi district. More than 13,000 families have benefitted under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana while more than 34,000 families have benefitted under the food security scheme. Against a target of 7,488 under the Jal Jeevan mission, 6,287 families have benefitted under the scheme. The State government is doing the work of laying the foundation for development in the State, he said. Due to encouragement provided to home stays, there are more than 4,000 registered home stays in the State at present. Further, 16 eco tourism destinations are being developed while work is also underway on the Rs 2,000 crore Tehri lake development project, Dhami said. The CM also spoke about the progress made in the implementation of various Central government schemes in the State.
He said that as promised, the State government will soon bring the uniform civil code in Uttarakhand. The government has also passed a strict anti-conversion law to check religious conversion by force or inducement. Yamunotri MLA Sanjay Dobhal, Purola MLA Durgeshwar Lal and Gangotri MLA Suresh Chauhan were also among those present on the occasion.
