CM receives assurance of swift implementation from Union ministers

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that ensuring the safety of people is the top priority for the state government. The Kanwad Yatra is related to faith and an appropriate decision on it will be taken considering the safety of people. He said that various Union ministers had assured him that the developmental proposals will be implemented soon in Uttarakhand. Addressing the media in New Delhi on Sunday, Dhami said that consistent efforts are underway to supply cheap electricity round the clock in Uttarakhand.
He said that the work done in Uttarakhand after Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed charge at the Centre had never been done before.A network of roads has been laid, free ration is being provided to the poor in these difficult circumstances and there is adequate availability of anti-Covid vaccine. He said that in about four years of the BJP state government’s term in office yet, the chief ministers before him had done considerable work and that his focus will be on taking those works forward and completing the remaining works. “The only challenge ahead of us is to take Uttarakhand forward. Our agenda is development, to take the works done in Uttarakhand by PM Modi to every home. To complete the works started by our government, providing employment to the people and corruption-free governance is our agenda,” said Dhami.
Earlier, while meeting the Union Civil Aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Dhami discussed the strengthening of air services in Uttarakhand. He requested that directions be issued to hand over survey of Pithoragarh airstrip to Airport Authority of India to make it more practical for air services and to start operation of flights under regional connectivity scheme from Pithoragarh after the tender process. Informing Scindia about the decisions taken in principle so far, he requested him to direct the officials concerned to facilitate implementation of these decisions.
While meeting the Union minister for Power, New and Renewable Energy, RK Singh, the CM requested that the new policy and guidelines be finalised for according grants for construction and development development of mini hydro projects from New and Renewable Energy ministry. He requested the union minister to extend the period fixed for installation of approved solar street lights in rural areas and to direct the agency concerned to expedite the remaining work. Thanking Singh for undergrounding of overhead power lines in Haridwar Kumbh area, he sought undergrounding of power lines under some centrally funded scheme in Haldwani. The CM discussed other issues and requirements of the State with Singh during their meeting.
