Prez to inaugurate Gyan Mahakumbh at Patanjali Yogpeeth
The chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat unveiled the logo and official website of the ‘ Gyan Mahakumbh’ on Saturday. The two- day event is being organized for improving the quality of higher education in the state on November 3 and 4. It is expected to the attended by educationalists from all parts of the country.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the President Ram Nath Kovind would inaugurate the Gyan Mahakumbh at Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar. He further said that the two- day event would provide an excellent platform for the exchange of ideas and innovations. Putting an emphasis on education with values, the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that valueless education takes one to the path of destruction. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also said that there should be three qualities in education – good thoughts, ethics, and values.
The minister of state for higher education, Dhan Singh Rawat claimed that Gyan Kumbh would be the first of its kind event in India and would be attended by the higher education ministers of all the states of India, higher education secretaries, vice-chancellors of all the universities, directors of all IITs, NITs, and director or chairman of all the educational institutions. The principals of the top 100 colleges of the country have also been invited. He added.
Dwelling on the theme of the event, he said that it would be ‘improvement in the quality of higher education’. ‘Gyan Kumbh’ would have ten sessions out of which eight would be technical. He said and added that the state government has been successful in persuading Rashtriya Uchatar Shiksha Abhiyan ( RUSA) to release a budget of Rs 300 crores for increasing infrastructure facilities in the colleges of the state. The minister further claimed that 93 percent of faculty positions in the government colleges of the state are now filled.
