Covid-19; 109 new cases, two deaths reported in U’khand

The state health department reported 109 new cases and 108 recoveries from the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) on Friday. The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state has now increased to 3,40,488 while a total of 3,25,361 patients have so far recovered from the disease. Death of two patients from Covid-19 was reported by the health department on the day which increased the death toll from the disease to 7327 in the state. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 95.56 and the sample positivity rate is at 6.11 percent in the state. The authorities collected 23,283 samples in different parts of the state on Friday.
Death of one patient each occurred at Lehman hospital Dehradun and Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun on the day.
The department reported 49 patients from Dehradun, 13 from Nainital, 12 from Pithoragarh, nine from Haridwar and six from Uttarkashi on Friday. All other districts reported five and fewer cases on the day.
The state now has 1,864 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district is at top of the table in the list of active cases with 751 cases while Pithoragarh is in the second position with 186 active cases. Bageshwar has 185, Nainital 133, Pauri 111, Chamoli 102, Champawat 82, Haridwar 67, Tehri 59, Rudraprayag 54, Uttarkashi 46, Almora 45 and Udham Singh Nagar 43 active cases of the disease.
The state reported three new cases of Mucormycosis (Black fungus) on Friday. A total of 502 patients of the disease have so far been reported in the state out of which 99 have died. In the ongoing vaccination drive, the health department vaccinated 30,500 people in 414 sessions held on the day. A total of 8,46,743 people have been fully vaccinated so far in the state while 36,27,335 have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state
