Covid-19: Death toll mounts to 1214 in U’khand

13 deaths, 424 new cases reported on Saturday

The death toll from the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Uttarakhand climbed to 1214 on Saturday with the state health department reporting  13 deaths from the disease. The department also reported 424  fresh cases of the disease on the day which further increased the tally of the disease to 73951 in the state. The authorities discharged 342 patients from different hospitals of the state after their complete recovery on Saturday. A total of 67197 patients have so far recovered from the disease in the state. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 90.87 while the sample positivity rate is 5.62 percent.

Four patients of the disease were reported dead at the Mahant Indiresh hospital, Dehradun on Saturday. Three patients of the disease were reported dead at HNB Base Hospital, Srinagar while two patients died at District hospital Tehri on the day.  One patient each was reported dead at Kailash hospital, Dehradun, Himalayan hospital Dehradun, Sushila Tiwari government hospital, Haldwani and Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital Dehradun on Saturday.

The governor of Uttarakhand Baby Rani Maurya was discharged from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Saturday. She was admitted here on 23 November for being found positive for Covid-19.

The authorities reported 163 fresh cases of the disease in Dehradun, 59 in Pithoragarh, 45 from Pauri, 30 from Haridwar, 21 each from Almora and Tehri, 20 from Chamoli, 19 from Champawat, 12 from Udham Singh Nagar, eight each from Bageshwar and Uttarkashi and seven from Rudraprayag on Saturday.

Uttarakhand now has 4876 active cases of the disease. Dehradun is at top of the table with 1465 active cases of the disease while with 551 active cases, Haridwar is on second position. Pauri has 485, Nainital 452, Pithoragarh 399, Chamoli 301, Udham Singh Nagar, Tehri 243, Almora 185, Champawat 169,  Rudraprayag 122 and Uttarkashi 133 active cases of the disease. With 119 active cases of Covid-19, Bageshwar now is at the bottom of the table.
