In latest news from Uttarakhand, the district magistrate Mayur Dixit inspected the solar drinking water pumping system installed under the Jal Jeevan Mission in the revenue village Guldi Chamba. The reservoir capacity of this drinking water tank, built by Uttarakhand Pey Jal Nigam, is 30 kilolitres from which drinking water is being supplied to about 40 families. While taking feedback about the power production capacity, solar pump operation and management, the DM asked the public representatives and villagers to build a small tank to conserve the unnecessarily flowing water. He said that this water could be used for animals and irrigation purposes.
This aside, he inspected the Government Primary School, Anganwadi centre and library in Guldi. At the school he checked the mid-day meal and talked to the students about its quality.
