Education Dept to recruit 3,600 teachers for primary schools

The Education department will soon start the process of recruitment of 3,600 assistant teachers on the vacant posts in the primary schools of the State. In view of the model code of conduct (MCC) imposed due to the Lok Sabha elections, the State government has taken permission of the Election Commission of India (ECI) for starting the process of the recruitment of these posts. The Education minister, Dhan Singh Rawat said that the State government is committed to strengthening the education system at the primary level. He said that apart from providing necessary facilities, the State government has decided to provide teachers in the primary education sector of the State.
He said that 3,600 posts of primary teachers are at present vacant in the primary schools of the State. Rawat said that after the approval of the ECI, orders have been given to the officers of the department to start the process of recruitment. He said that the new recruitment will be done as per the provisions of the Uttarakhand government primary education (teacher) ( amended) service regulations -2024. Under the new provisions only the Diploma in Elementary Education (D El Ed) qualified candidates will be eligible for recruitment as primary teacher.
The minister added that the candidates who had applied for the primary teachers posts in the year 2020 and 2021 will be exempted from applying again for these posts.
