The health minister Dhan Singh Rawat inaugurated the portal of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) department and launched the Eat Right campaign of the department here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion he said that the people of the state would be made aware about safe and nutritious food by the Eat Right campaign.
He said that the online portal would help food businessmen in the process of registrations and would also promote transparency. Rawat added that now the whole process of taking samples and their lab reports can be easily traced on the portal. He said that the department has undertaken a campaign to register more than one lakh food businesses in one month. The food safety commissioner Pankaj Pandey said that special emphasis should be made on food and nutrition and one can escape from the disease by eating the right food.
The MLA from Dehradun Cantt Harbans Kapur, director general health Dr Tripti Bahuguna and others were present on the occasion.
