The Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh directed on Wednesday that all police personnel deployed in offices will have to undertake firearm practice along with parades regularly to keep them prepared. He said that such practice sessions will be conducted regularly to ensure police personnel that are mostly involved in the office work stay in touch with their skills and training. This will help them to respond well during emergency situations. The SSP stated this during his annual inspection of the police office on Wednesday. He also tested the efficiency of the police personnel appointed in the police office by conducting weapons drills for them. He also directed the office of the superintendent of police and police line to ensure all police personnel regularly participate in parade and weapon drills. The SSP directed officials to regularly update all records and ensure timely disposal of the applications received for investigation as per the rules. He also instructed the subordinate officers not to keep case files pending unnecessarily and work efficiently for their timely disposal. He also formed a committee to destroy the old records. He instructed the head clerk to separate the old records as per the committee to dispose of them soon.
