The Tourism and Culture minister Satpal Maharaj was felicitated with the Swami Vivekanand Devbhumi Samman 2021 for creation of the Vivekanand circuit and other spiritual circuits in the state. The award was presented to him by the Ramkrishna Mission Ashram and Sanskar Parivar Devbhumi Trust at a function on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Maharaj said that Vivekanand often said that the natural beauty of Uttarakhand had left an indelible impression on him. This beauty cannot be described in words and to experience it one must visit Uttarakhand. To inspire that experience, the Tourism department has prepared the Swami Vivekanand tourism circuit.
Ramkrishna Mission Ashram secretary Asim Atmanand, Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple Mahant Krishna Giri and Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ among others were also present on the occasion.
