Four men died and one sustained serious injuries in a road accident near Kalsi in Chakrata on Saturday night. The police said that a local named Gajendra Singh informed the police on late Saturday night that a car has fallen into a gorge near Dasau Road in the Kalsi area that was carrying five men- Jai Singh (34), Sanjay Chauhan (30), Pritam Singh (30), Ranvir Singh (28) and Bardar Sigh (25) of same family. The police informed that the car had fallen into a 600 metre deep gorge and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) was immediately called to conduct a rescue operation. The SDRF with the help of local police and residents recovered the dead bodies of Pritam Singh and Bardar Singh and three injured men from the gorge. According to the police, the injured men were immediately taken to the hospital for treatment but two of them- Sanjay Singh and Ranvir Singh were declared dead by the doctors in the hospital while the other’s condition was critical till late evening. The police informed that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem and they are looking into the matter.
