With construction nearly complete, Haldwani is set to have an international-level astroturf hockey stadium in August.
Sports minister Rekha Arya said that this development after inspecting the facility being constructed at the Manaskhand Sports Complex at Gaulapar, Haldwani, on Friday. She said that the stadium’s features are being designed to meet international standards, and the construction is in its final stages.
Additionally, she emphasised that once the hockey stadium is ready, local players will have the opportunity to practice and train regularly there. This stadium represents a significant step toward establishing Uttarakhand as both a Devbhoomi and a hub for sports.
Arya said that the continuous enhancement of sports facilities across cities and towns in the State will undoubtedly provide Uttarakhand’s athletes with better chances to excel in sports.
