Health department gets 36 specialist doctors

In a major boost to the State health services currently reeling under severe shortage of specialist doctors, the Health department has deployed 36 specialist doctors in different hospitals of the State. These doctors belong to the cadre of the Provincial Medical Health Services (PMHS) and were on study leave for pursuing post graduate courses. Now after completion of the PG courses, the Health department has decided to deploy them in the hospitals located in the mountainous areas of the State.
As per the department, it has deployed seven specialist doctors in general medicine, one in respiratory medicine, two anaesthetists, three in ENT, seven in general surgery, three each in paediatrics and pathology, one each in orthopaedics and gynaecology, two in community medicine, one in ophthalmology and two microbiologists.
The Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that with the deployment of specialist doctors better health facilities will be available for the patients.
