ICAR-IISWC hosts 5- day training on holistic farming

A team of scientists from ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun hosted a five-day training programme on ‘Holistic management of natural and human resources at farm scale’ which commenced on September 23 at the Sundaraya village under Khatar gram panchayat, Kalsi block, Dehradun. The programme was organised under SCSP, ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun.
The principal scientist and head (PME & KM Unit), IISWC M Muruganandam spoke during a session on the linkages between farm production, livelihood, food, nutritional security and health of the farm family. He stressed on diversifying farm production at village level and food items in daily diets at family level to balance nutrition and maintain health.
A total of 52 people participated in the programme of whom 33 were farm women.
