The Uttarakhand police arrested Jitendra Narayan Tyagi alias Wasim Rizvi in connection with hate speech during the Dharm Sansad held in Haridwar in December last year. Nadim Ali had lodged a complaint with Haridwar police on Jaunary 2 against Rizvi and others for objectionable comments aimed at the Muslim community on social media. A special investigation team (SIT) is investigating the case. According to the police, with adequate evidence of the crime against Jitendra Narayan Tyagi alias Wasim Rizvi under IPC sections 153 A, 295 A and 298, the police acted on a tip off and arrested him from the Narsen border of Haridwar district on Thursday. He was accompanied by Yati Narsinghanand at the time of being detained by the police.
