Eight persons were injured in a landslide at the dam site of the Vishnugad-Peepalkoti hydro power project being constructed by THDC India Limited at Helang in Chamoli district on Saturday.
The police, State Disaster Response Force, Health department and Tehsil personnel reached the site on being informed about the disaster. The injured were rescued from the site and hospitalised. District magistrate Sandeep Tiwari informed that there is no information about any person dying in the landslide at Helang.
Out of the eight injured, four were admitted in the THDCIL hospital for treatment. Two seriously injured persons are being treated at the Swami Vivekanand hospital in Peepalkoti. Similarly, one another seriously injured person was referred to the Srinagar medical college hospital while another was being treated for fracture in Peepalkoti
