The chief electoral officer (CEO) of Uttarakhand, BVRC Purushottam held a meeting of the State nodal officers of different departments for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections. In the meeting the CEO directed all the nodal officers to prepare a detailed work plan for the elections. He ordered that the district and the State control rooms should be made active and their dry run should start immediately. The CEO asked the Excise and Police departments to undertake enforcement activities and regularly upload reports on the Election Seizure Management System (ESMS). The police personnel at the police stations and police post level should be trained for the ESMS. The CEO added that the circle inspectors of the Excise department should be brought onboard the portal by assigning them login IDs. He said that the State nodal officers should ensure that all the employees drawn for election duties exercise their voting rights. A detailed plan for ensuring 100 per cent voting of all the vehicle drivers on election duties should be prepared, he said.
The CEO said that the Health department should provide necessary medical facilities to the employees on election duty. He directed that the first aid kits should be with every polling party and in case of any emergency air ambulance should be kept ready.
The additional CEO VK Jogdande, joint CEO Namami Bansal, Pratap Shah and others attended the meeting.
