Mahara raises plight of employees under NPS
The deputy leader of the Congress legislature party Karan Mahara raised the issue of pension to the state government employees covered under the New Pension Scheme (NPS) under rule 300 in state assembly on Wednesday. These employees have got jobs after the year 2004. He said that many employees who had recently retired are getting less than Rs 2000 monthly pension under the NPS.
Mahra said that when a government employee retires after 25-30 years of service he has maximum responsibilities and on such meagre pension he or she would not be able to discharge them. He appealed that the state government should send a request to the central government on restoration of old pension.
