Maximum & minimum temperatures drop in various parts of State

Rain & snowfall likely in higher reaches of five districts today
The provisional State capital Dehradun once again witnessed windy conditions and a spell of rain in the wee hours on Saturday. The rest of the day saw a mainly clear to partly cloudy sky though the maximum and minimum temperatures dropped by a few notches in the city. A similar departure from normal was witnessed in the maximum and minimum temperatures in other parts of the State on Saturday. Meanwhile, light rain and snowfall are forecast in the higher reaches of five districts on Sunday. The State meteorological centre has forecast that very light to light rain/thunderstorms/snowfall are likely to occur at isolated places in the higher reaches of Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts today. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts on Sunday.
Dehradun is likely to witness mainly clear to partly cloudy skies with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 33 degrees Celsius and 17 degrees Celsius respectively.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 31.6 degrees Celsius and 16.5 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 34.5 degrees Celsius and 15.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 21.5 degrees Celsius and 7.7 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 21 degrees Celsius and 9.8 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Dehradun and Pantnagar registered a drop of two degrees while the maximum and minimum temperatures dropped by two degrees and three degrees respectively in Mukteshwar and five degrees and seven degrees respectively in New Tehri on Saturday.
