More rain & snow in store today as temperatures continue to drop
Thunderstorms with lightning, hail and gusty winds likely in parts of State today

Rain in the plains and lower altitudes along with snowfall in the higher reaches have continued in various parts of the State resulting in a noticeable drop in the temperatures. The rain and snowfall is likely to continue in various parts of the State on Monday. The State meteorological centre has issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/hail and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) likely to occur at isolated places in the State on Monday. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms/snowfall are likely to occur at many places in the districts of the State today while snowfall is likely to occur at places situated at altitudes of 3,500 metres and above.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness generally cloudy skies with one to two spells of light to moderate rain/thunderstorm with gusty winds (40-50 kmph) likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 28 degrees Celsius and 16 degrees Celsius respectively on Monday.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Sunday were 29.9 degrees Celsius and 20.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 30.5 degrees Celsius and 19.3 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 15.1 degrees Celsius and nine degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 19.6 degrees Celsius and 10.8 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. Light to moderate rain was recorded in various places with 17.4 millimetres in Dehradun, 10 millimetres in Mukteshwar, 29.5 millimetres in Pratapnagar, 25.5 millimetres in Jageshwar and 17.5 millimetres in Bhimtal.
