The Rs 2,000 crore MoU with the Poma Group is the biggest MoU any foreign multinational company has entered with the Uttarakhand government. The project is expected to give a boost to ropeway infrastructure in the State.
The company has expressed its desire to invest in providing technical support for ropeways and establishing a centre of excellence in many religious and tourist places of the State including Haridwar.
The Poma Group has worked in the construction of the Auli ropeway in the Chamoli district. The company is also providing technical support in Dehradun-Mussoorie ropeway and Yamunotri ropeway projects.
