Spokesperson Garima Dasauni claimed that law and order situation in the state is in shambles and the criminals are under no fear of government.
The alleged murder of a Dalit youth in Nainbagh area of Tehri district by some miscreants belonging to upper castes in a marriage ceremony has heated up the politics in Uttarakhand. Even as the incident is snowballing into a major political controversy, the opposition Congress has slammed the government for what is termed dismal law and order condition.
Launching a scathing attack on the state government, the spokesperson of state unit of Congress party, Garima Mahara Dasauni said that it is unfortunate that such heinous and inhuman crimes are being committed even after 72 years of independence. She said that the incident has put up a question mark on the functioning of the state government. The congress leader said that the delay in police action and reported negligence clearly shows that the police are trying to cover up the incident. She expressed surprise at the fact that only three persons have so far been arrested and other culprits are roaming free. Dasauni said, “The law and order situation in the state is in shambles and the criminals are under no fear of government.’’ Demanding resignation of the minister and officials concerned for the shocking incident, she said that that exemplary action should be taken against the culprits so that an example is set before the people of the state.
