One time settlement scheme of Cooperative banks extended

In one month a sum of Rs 4.23 Crore deposited by 231 people in their NPA accounts
The One Time Settlement Scheme (OTS) for the loan defaulters of the cooperative banks of the state has been extended till October 15 this year. This decision has been taken in view of the good response it is receiving and the upcoming festival season.
The registrar cooperative, Anand Swarup said that OTS has been extended by 15 days. He said that the scheme is getting good response and in the last one month a sum of Rs 4,22,86000 was deposited by 231 people in their NPA accounts. Swarup informed that 425 people had applied in the OTS in which a sum of Rs 9.7 Crore is expected to be deposited.
Giving details he said that Rs 19.7 lakh by 40 people in Haridwar, Rs 5.5 lakh by nine persons in Kotdwar, Rs 23.14 Lakh by 26 persons in Dehradun, Rs 4.28 Lakh by 11 in Chamoli, Rs 110.3 lakh by 29 in Tehri, Rs 58.48 Lakh by 23 persons in Uttarkashi, Rs 57.8 lakh by 18 in Almora, Rs 25.81 Lakh by 23 in Nainital, Rs 33.62 Lakh by 32 in Pithoragarh, Rs 1.61 Lakh by five in Udham Singh Nagar and Rs 84.5 lakhs by 15 persons in State Cooperative Bank Haldwani in last one month in OTS.
The Managing Director of Uttarakhand State Cooperative Bank, Ira Upreti said that extension of date of OTS is good news for those who have not deposited their money in the loan accounts and they should avail the opportunity.
