The pilgrimage to the Lokpal area in Chamoli district where Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara is located was stopped temporarily due to consistent snowfall. The rain and snowfall being experienced in the region since Saturday resulted in upto two feet snow in the Lokpal area due to which the pilgrims going towards Hemkund Sahib were stopped by the authorities at various locations. According to official sources, the pilgrimage will be resumed after the weather clears.
