The Bharatiya Janata Party State president Mahendra Bhatt said that with the Central government approving the rehabilitation package for land subsidence affected Joshimath in Chamoli district, the Prime Minister’s office will monitor the execution of this plan which will result in the development of a secure and grand Joshimath. Speaking on the Joshimath rehabilitation package, Bhatt said that the administration had sent the evaluation for the rehabilitation package to the State government based on the feedback and reports from the local residents, experts and technical agencies. After detailed deliberations, this proposal was sent to the Central government. The Central government has approved the financial package for rehabilitation based on the proposal sent by the State government. “This is the best package approved in any such case so far. This entire task of rehabilitation will be undertaken by the State government and the PMO will monitor it. All the works which will be undertaken as part of this process will be executed under the guidance of experts and those with technical knowledge and according to their suggestions,” said the BJP State president. He claimed that a secure and grand Joshimath will be ready for all to see soon with PM Modi monitoring and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami leading the efforts.

Referring to those raising questions at the rehabilitation package, Bhatt said that these very people were questioning strategically important projects at the time of disaster and trying to damage national interests. However, the reports submitted by top scientific institutions on the Joshimath subsidence disaster have exposed such elements. PM Modi is himself concerned about the problem being faced by the people of Joshimath. Those who are raising questions at the rehabilitation package will get a befitting answer after the execution of the rehabilitation works, said Bhatt.
