Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has summoned the cabinet minister Prem Chand Agarwal after the video of the brawl involving him went viral. The CM said he will seek an explanation from him about the controversy. Besides, the CM has ordered Director General of Police Ashok Kumar to conduct a proper investigation.
Meanwhile, the BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt condemned the incident, saying that everyone should behave in a restrained manner in public places.
Cabinet minister Prem Chand Agarwal is not new to controversies. Earlier, he had fuelled controversy regarding the statement he made in the media on the matter of alleged backdoor recruitment in the Vidhansabha. In 2018, while being the then Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, he courted controversy regarding the job of his son in the Jal Sansthan. Again, before his Germany tour, Agarwal made 74 transfers in the urban development department later stopped by CM Dhami. Agarwal had also come into controversies for stopping the work of transit campus in AIIMS.
