Roadways bus hits scooty in Rookee, kills 2

Two teenagers were killed after being hit by an Uttarakhand Roadways bus on Tuesday evening in the Civil Lines area of Roorkee in Haridwar district. The victims, identified as Mannan (19) and Shadab (17), both residents of Garhi Sanghipur, Laksar, were riding a motorcycle when they collided with the bus.
The officials informed that the teenagers were dragged about 40 metres under the bus before it came to a halt. The Haridwar senior superintendent of police Pramendra Singh Dobal, who was aalsoin a vehicle behind the bus at the time of the accident, immediately intervened and stopped the bus. Despite efforts to rush the victims to the nearby hospital, they were pronounced dead on arrival by doctors, the officials said.
The bodies were sent to the mortuary and the police took the bus into custody for further investigation. They said that the police are investigating the cause of the accident and further action will be taken accordingly.
