Senior AAP & Congress leaders join BJP, welcomed by Dhami & Bhatt

A day after resigning from the Aam Aadmi Party, senior leader Jot Singh Bisht joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. A number of other former AAP leaders and senior Congress leaders also joined the BJP in the presence of the BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday.

Welcoming the leaders to the BJP, the CM said that since they had joined the party during the auspicious period of Uttarayan, it would be auspicious for the party, for them and the State. “We are all fortunate that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ram Rajya is being reinstated in the nation. Due to the faith of crores of followers of Sanatan Dharma and PM Modi’s efforts, Lord Ram is being ritually placed in the temple in Ayodhya. The Central and State governments have taken steps towards making India a developed nation for which all have to do their bit. We have to work to achieve success in vision 2025 for Uttarakhand,” he said.

Presiding over the programme, the BJP State president assured that those who have joined the party will be accorded proper respect. “Good persons are always welcome in a party dedicated to good governance and development. The party will hold such large joining programmes till the election. A leader or worker with a clean image and capability is always welcome in the party,” Bhatt said. He further said that under PM Modi’s guidance and CM Dhami’s leadership, a long series of development programmes is underway. He said that with the public and political workers witnessing the development of the State and the nation, there is a wave of people wanting to join the BJP due to social and moral pressure. Bhatt said that PM Modi had done a lot for the State and the people during the past nine and half years, adding that now is the turn of the people to do something for him. Stating that the blessing of the people are with the BJP, he said that victory in the coming Lok Sabha elections should be resounding beyond the imagination of the opposition.

Along with Bisht, the other former AAP and Congress leaders who joined the BJP include RP Raturi, Kamlesh Raman, Hem Arya, former Kisan Congress State vice president Ratnamani Bhatt and others.
