In latest Uttarakhand news, as it rained torrentially in the hills of Narendranagar block of Tehri district, the rain-fed stream in the Tapovan area overflowed and several vehicles, parked on the roadsides, got buried under debris that came straight from the hills. The administration started pulling these vehicles out of the debris. The officers concerned informed that among the vehicles trapped under the debris were six wheelers and four wheelers.
Meanwhile, the road that leads to a hotel situated on the bank of Ganga in Tapovan got blocked due to falling boulders and debris. Excavating machines were used in removing the debris and the road was reopened for traffic. Speaking on the matter, a senior revenue officer posted in the region said that the debris removal work has started in the affected areas. Along with it, the cars, trapped under debris, were being pulled out, the officer added.
