Sitharaman proposes Rs 26,000 c for Bihar’s road projects

The Centre proposed to arrange Rs 26,000 crore for execution of various road projects in Bihar, said the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while presenting her Budget in the Lok Sabha and added that the aid proposed for the State would be collected from multilateral development agencies. She further said that airports, medical colleges and sports infrastructure would be set up in Bihar.
Plus, the Centre would formulate plan ‘Purvodaya’ to facilitate all-round development of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh and with this objective in view, the government would support industrial corridor for development in the eastern region.
Sitharaman announced that the government would provide e-vouchers directly to one llakh students every year with interest subvention of 3 per cent of loan amount.
