In latest news from Dehradun, acting on the order of the Dehradun SSP Ajai Singh to remove temporary structures encroaching public spaces, the kotowali police station slapped fines on several people under relevant sections of the police act for trading while putting clothes on carts and from makeshift shops in the highly congested Paltan Bazaar and Dispensary Road, which experience traffic snarls daily. Sharing details, the police said that 18 carts had been brought to the police station. Meanwhile, the Patelnagar police station claimed to have collected Rs 18,000 by way of challans and removed makeshift structures during anti-encroachment drives launched in the ISBT areas jointly with the Dehradun Municipal Corporation team. The squatters were warned against encroaching upon the public space again, police further informed.
