State Cabinet takes various decisions

Thursday, 13 September 2018 | PNS | Dehradun– The State Cabinet took various important decisions in its meeting held on Wednesday. While the ban on women personnel undertaking night duty was removed, it was also decided that they will not be insisted upon to work the night shift. Further, the proposed policy for harvesting and sale of Yarsa Gumba (Keeda Jadi) was also approved. With the monsoon session of the Vidhan Sabha already being announced, there was no formal briefing for the media on the decisions taken by the Cabinet. In the meeting of the Cabinet presided over by the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, it was decided that the hall on the fifth floor at secretariat will be named after Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali. In addition to amendment in the Uttarakhand solar power policy being approved, the structure for appointment in the Uttarakhand power corporation (vigilance) was also approved. Amendments in the Act pertaining to municipal corporations and municipalities were also approved to include provision for merger of villages into such urban local bodies. A policy for telecom companies setting up mobile phone towers was also decided upon. Cancelling the information and technology electronic policy 2016 policy, the Cabinet approved the information and technology electronic policy 2018. The cabinet also approved two proposals related to the power department. It approved the structure for the vigilance cell of the Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited with eight posts being approved in the cell. Amendments were also made to the solar energy policy of 2013 to enable projects of upto five megawatts in mountainous regions with provision for reservation for those with a domicile of the district concerned. Further, the Cabinet also agreed upon presenting the slum related ordinance in the Vidhan Sabha. In addition to this, the Press club bar fees was reduced from Rs 3,00,000 to Rs 1,50,000 and the bar fees for five star hotels was also reduced from Rs  15 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
