A 17-year-old girl who was missing for about 10 days from the Raipur area of Dehradun has been charged with a murder of a man along with her 22-year-old alleged lover Akash on Sunday. According to the police, a man filed a missing complaint about his sister on March 17 stating that she had gone somewhere without informing anybody. The police formed two teams and started a search operation to find the minor girl. The police looked at the footage of 37 CCTV cameras in the Raipur area and found during the investigation that the girl had an alleged affair with a young man named Akash. It was further revealed that Akash was also missing since the same day. The police spread the photos and the pamphlets of the missing girl on various public platforms like bus station, railway station and the nearby districts and finally got the information on March 27 that the girl along with her alleged lover was at the home of her sister in Rajpur. After the police apprehended the duo, Akash revealed during the investigation that they both fled from their homes because they had allegedly killed a young man named Narendra alias Bunty who was reportedly spreading rumours about the girl in their localities. According to him, he and the girl met through Facebook and knew each other for about a year. They both were in love with each other and wanted to get married but the deceased Bunty liked the girl too and was spreading rumours about her to reduce her chances of marrying Akash, informed the police. Considering this, they both decided to kill Bunty, said the police. Akash said that they called Bunty to the girl’s home on March 16 as her sister along with her family had gone to Mussoorie that day. Bunty arrived drunk and lay on the bed when Akash strangled him to death as the girl held his hands. They buried the body in a forest in Nanurkheda area and returned home, took some money and other items before fleeing to Delhi and then to Assam, said the police. The police said that according to Akash, they returned to Dehradun after they thought nobody had suspected them of any crime so far. The police said that the girl has agreed to everything revealed by Akash during the investigation. The police have filed the case against both accused under relevant sections of IPC and will present them before the court soon.
