Temperatures drop with advent of rains, more in store today

Temperatures have dropped substantially in most places across the State with rains being experienced in the past couple of days.  In Dehradun where the maximum temperature was touching 40 degrees Celsius a few days ago, the maximum temperature had dropped to about 25 degrees Celsius on Saturday. With many parts of the State experiencing rain on Saturday, the State meteorological centre has forecast the possibility of light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorm likely to occur at many places in the districts on Sunday.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 28 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius respectively on Sunday in Dehradun.

Meanwhile on Saturday, there was 16.4 millimetres rain in Mussoorie, 10 millimetres in Nagthat, 15 millimetres in Uttarkashi, 11.5 millimetres in Badkot, 10.5 millimetres each in Dunda and Uttarkashi, 10 millimetres in Rudraprayag and 25.5 millimetres in Mukhim. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Saturday were 25 degrees Celsius and 22.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun with 5.4 millimetres of rain, 32.5 degrees Celsius and 24.2 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar with trace rain, 20.8 degrees Celsius and 13.8 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar with 1.8 millimetres of rain, 17.4 degrees Celsius and 16.4 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri with 17.4 millimetres of rain.
