Tenders issued for automated and regular parking facilities in Doon

Considering the increasing traffic and parking woes in Dehradun, the district administration issued tenders for two automated and one regular parking facility in the city on Sunday. As part of efforts to streamline the city, these three parking projects are expected to be completed within four months, the Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal said. The move comes in response to the increasing number of vehicles in the city, making automated parking a necessity for Dehradun. The DM has assigned the responsibility of completing the construction of all three parking facilities to the the Rural Development department that will ensure that these parking facilities are constructed within the given time. The automated parking systems will feature advanced technology to ensure vehicle safety and are expected to alleviate the congestion faced by commuters in the provisional State capital . Bansal informed that the two automated parking facilities will be located at Lansdowne Chowk near the multi-purpose sports complex opposite the Tibetan Market and on the right side of Gandhi Park, along the road from Lansdowne Chowk to Parade Ground. The tender for these automated facilities is set to open on October 25, he added. Besides this, a regular surface parking facility will be constructed near Survey Chowk, adjacent to the Kabul House land next to the Karanpur police outpost. The tender for this parking will be opened on October 23. The executive engineer of the department concerned has been instructed to ensure that the construction is finished within the stipulated time frame, the DM added.
