Thunderstorm warning issued for mountainous regions

The State meteorological department has issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the State on Tuesday. Further, very light to light rain/thunderstorms/snowfall are likely to occur at isolated places in the mountains of Uttarakhand. Snowfall is also likely to occur at places located at altitudes of 3,500 metres and above. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the plains of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is likely to witness mainly clear to partly cloudy skies with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 31 degrees Celsius and 16 degrees Celsius respectively.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Monday were 30.6 degrees Celsius and 16.8 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 27.5 degrees Celsius ad 16.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 16.9 degrees Celsius and 8.1 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 19.6 degrees Celsius and 10.8 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
